🌱 Office Sustainability - for less e-waste and a smaller CO₂ footprint
Our office runs on 100% green electricity from renewable sources. We consciously monitor our energy consumption:
- Energy-efficient hardware and appliances help us operate sustainably.
- We extend the life of our equipment by repairing and reusing it wherever possible.
- By switching to Apple devices (iPhones, MacBooks), we increased the average lifespan of our laptops by over 80% and reduced power consumption per laptop by 40%.
🚆 Sustainable Travel - travel less, achieve more
As little as necessary, as much as needed.
We strongly promote digital collaboration – less than 10% of our consulting days take place on-site with clients. That means fewer trips, and fewer emissions before they even happen.
We coordinate our customer visits with train schedules – and with great success:
- 85% of our business trips are by train, powered by 100% green energy.
- Flights are only used when absolutely necessary – and remain the exception.
- Our vehicle fleet is intentionally small and consists of 80% electric and 20% hybrid vehicles.
☁️ Sustainable hosting & IT operations
Our digital solutions are hosted on Hetzner Cloud, one of the most sustainable hosting providers in Europe. Hetzner consistently implements eco-friendly technologies and practices:
- 100% renewable energy: Since 2008, Hetzner’s German data centers have been powered entirely by hydroelectric energy – saving around 77,000 tons of CO₂ annually compared to the average German electricity mix.
- Energy-efficient data centres: Innovative free-air cooling systems enable Hetzner to achieve a PUE (Power Usage Effectiveness) between 1.10 and 1.16 – an outstanding efficiency level.
- Durable hardware: Servers are used for an average of eight years thanks to repair and reuse strategies – saving resources and reducing waste.
- In-house renewable energy production: Through its subsidiary HT Clean Energy GmbH and the construction of its own solar park, Hetzner actively supports the energy transition.
