Everything we know about the Odoo 20 roadmap
The official Odoo 20 roadmap has been released at the Odoo Partner Days 2026 on April 2nd. Here are all the new features we already know of:
Process-aware agentic AI
Ask AI
Odoo 20 introduces a database-wide search that handles natural language queries to summarise ticket complaints, find specific stock moves, or locate the latest PO from a supplier.
Autonomous execution
AI in Odoo 20 can read Technical Design Document PDFs to automatically build a project with stages and tasks.
Lead reassignment
AI agents can search Odoo CRM for all unwon leads assigned to a specific person and reassign them based on defined criteria.
Helpdesk AI sidekick
A new AI sidekick summarises chatter conversations and drafts follow-up replies based on solutions from similar historical tickets.
Timesheets AI assistant
A privacy-friendly background tracker in the Odoo Timesheets app will automate time suggestions by monitoring activities such as pull requests or channel discussions.
Accounting
Pay from Odoo
You can pay vendor bills directly out of the system via SEPA or secure bank batches validated with a single signature.
Public accounting website
Odoo 20 will publicly host standard localisation data, including charts of accounts, tax structures, and expense deductibility by country.
Any account reconciliation
In Odoo 20, reconciliation of any account triggers automatic adjustment entries for FX differences or revenue deferrals.

Earlier hints from minor Odoo 19 releases
Odoo often soft-launches smaller improvements in minor updates before releasing the full features in major version reveals.
While Odoo 19.1 and 19.2 are still early releases, they are already giving us some clues as to what’s to come in Odoo 20.
Process-aware agentic AI
Odoo 19.1 AI evolved from standard chatbots to agents that answer questions about specific files. Odoo 19.2 takes this further by adding context and dynamic values in default prompts, like using AI to assign emission factors in ESG. This is the foundation for the autonomous execution we want to see in Odoo 20.
Accounting maturity & validation
Odoo 19.1 introduced new localisations and OCR. Odoo 19.2 adds fail-safe guardrails, like double-payment detection and the renaming of statuses to "Paid" and "Reconciled" to clarify the bank matching flow. These updates suggest a move toward a self-correcting ledger required for true enterprise maturity.
Cross-app document transparency
Odoo 19.1 linked files between Accounting and Documents via bank statement sync. In 19.2, this expands with branch management in the bridge and the ability to update Sign template PDFs without recreating signature fields. This helps break down data silos and makes document versioning easier for larger companies.
Unified resource management
The most significant structural hint in 19.2 is the integration of Field Service into Planning. It also assigns multiple resources to a shift and Gantt buffers. It looks like Odoo 20 is standardising its backend to treat all tasks as a single, unified resource engine.
Infrastructure & high-user navigation
Odoo 19.1 moved to in-house push notifications. Odoo 19.2 introduced a new ALT + SHIFT + H shortcut to share exact filtered views and adaptive image sizing (srcset) for mobile. These refinements are necessary steps to break the 10,000-user ceiling for large, collaborative teams.
Consolidated stock & manufacturing
Inventory and Manufacturing are moving toward minimal manual oversight. Following the reordering consolidation in 19.1, 19.2 has made flexible consumption the default for all orders and added a Work Order Kanban.
Industry-specific verticalisation
Odoo 19.2 introduces dedicated logic for specialised sectors, including Therapy (session management), Condominiums (meter readings), and Construction (work items).
Offline functionality
The Offline UI from 19.1 has been upgraded in 19.2 with Offline Search for previous queries. While not yet full front-end caching, it tells us Odoo is actively working on functional record management and search for low-connectivity environments.
Marketplace & global trade integrations
Odoo 20 will act as a global trade hub for international e-commerce and e-invoicing. It will introduce a new Lazada integration to fetch orders and sync inventory, and Peppol GLN identifiers for delivery contacts.

Odoo 19 hat bereits große Verbesserungen bei Abschlussvorgängen und im Reporting geliefert. Dennoch fehlt noch ein kleiner Schritt, um eine wirklich durchgängige, lokal konforme Buchhaltungs-Engine zu werden.
Für Odoo 20 hoffen wir daher auf:
Direkte Behördenschnittstellen
Das kritischste Puzzleteil ist die native Integration spezifischer Schnittstellen für das verpflichtende Meldewesen, wie etwa ELSTER in Deutschland.
Aktuell sind hier oft Drittanbieter-Lösungen nötig. Ein direkter Export wäre nicht nur komfortabler, sondern ein klares Signal, dass Odoo Compliance-Prozesse vollständig abbilden kann.
Finanzprognosen (Forecasting)
Odoo 18 brachte das Budgeting, Odoo 19 fortgeschrittene Abschlussfunktionen.
Wir wünschen uns für Odoo 20 ein natives Financial Forecasting, das auf den bestehenden Budget-Ansichten aufbaut.
Nutzer könnten so die künftige Performance basierend auf aktuellen Zahlen prognostizieren, statt nur Ist-Werte mit einem statischen Plan zu vergleichen.
Abstimmung (Reconciliation)
Wir wünschen uns eine Abstimmungs-Ansicht, die für Unternehmen jeder Größe reibungslos funktioniert und die funktionalen Lücken der Vorgängerversionen schließt.
Die 10.000-User-Marke knacken
Damit Odoo endgültig im Enterprise-Segment ankommt, muss das technische Fundament weiter reifen.
Odoo 19 hat mit Architektur-Updates bereits die Richtung vorgegeben. Odoo 20 sollte diese Evolution fortsetzen:
Vollständiger Offline-Modus
Odoo 19 hat den Offline-Modus eingeführt, doch für den täglichen Einsatz ist er noch zu instabil.
In Odoo 20 wünschen wir uns nun ein optimiertes Front-End-Caching.
Das würde helfen, die Nutzung auch bei schwacher mobiler Verbindung oder geringer Bandbreite flüssig zu gestalten.
Read-Replica (R/R) Datenbanken
Odoo 19 lieferte den Framework-Support für Read-Replicas (Lese-Kopien), damit eine Datenbank Lesezugriffe und eine andere Schreibvorgänge verarbeiten kann.
In Odoo 20 hoffen wir auf die volle Implementierung, um die Performance massiv zu steigern.
Dies würde Odoo befähigen, über 10.000 gleichzeitige Nutzer zu unterstützen – ein Quantensprung im Vergleich zu den bisher kommunizierten 5.000 Nutzern.
Ebenso wäre ohne Performance-Bremse der Weg frei, verstärkt in Funktionen auf Konzernebene zu investieren.
Mehr „Agentic AI“ statt nur Chat
Die native KI-App in Odoo 19 ist ein großartiger Start, agiert derzeit aber primär als Chatbot.
Unser Wunsch für Odoo 20 ist ein Paradigmenwechsel hin zur agentenbasierten Automatisierung.
Statt Chat-Schnittstellen, die lediglich auf Eingaben (Prompts) warten, agiert eine „Agentic AI“ direkt innerhalb der Prozesse, um Aufgaben autonom auszuführen.
Diese Entwicklung würde Odoo mit den Branchentrends zu vollständig autonomen, KI-gestützten Abläufen in Einklang bringen, bei denen das System den Prozess aktiv vorantreibt und der Mensch nur noch steuernd oder freigebend eingreift.
Automatisierte Preise für Bundles & Upsells
Odoo 19 hat ein hervorragendes Feature eingeführt, um Positionen in Angeboten zu gruppieren und so die Preise einzelner Zeilen zu verbergen. Diese Automatisierung ist jedoch bisher an Angebotsvorlagen gebunden.
Erstellt man ein Angebot ohne Vorlage oder fügt ad hoc optionale Produkte hinzu, greift die Gruppierungslogik nicht mehr, was manuelle Korrekturen erzwingt.
Wir hoffen, dass Odoo 20 diese Logik direkt in den Produktstamm verlagert. Wir benötigen Einstellungen, um bestimmte Artikel – ob Bundles, Upsells oder Sonderangebote – so zu markieren, dass sie niemals einen Einzelpreis anzeigen.
Das würde ein korrektes Layout garantieren, selbst wenn ein Angebot von Grund auf neu erstellt wird.
Native Rahmenverträge für Abos
Seit die Funktion für Rahmenverträge nach Version 16 eingestellt wurde, ist die Verwaltung mehrerer Abonnements pro Kunde eine Herausforderung.
Wenn ein Kunde heute Abos zu unterschiedlichen Zeitpunkten oder zu verschiedenen Konditionen erwirbt, ist das Synchronisieren und Zusammenführen kompliziert und erfordert oft Anpassungen oder Drittanbieter-Apps.
Da nun aber praktisch jedes Unternehmen mit Abomodell Kunden hat, die mehr als einen Vertrag besitzen, betrifft diese Einschränkung nahezu alle Nutzer von Odoo Subscriptions.
Wir würden uns daher freuen, wenn Odoo 20 einen automatisierten Weg einführt, um mehrere Abos zusammenzuführen, Upsells und Add-ons einfach zu handhaben und dabei sicherzustellen, dass alle Kalkulationen korrekt bleiben.
Proaktive Bestandaufstockung
Odoo 19 hat die automatische Auffüllung nach Prognose eingeführt, aber bisher nur in einer Basis-Variante.
Wir hoffen, dass Odoo 20 das Lager „hellseherisch“ macht.
Das System sollte Bedarfe so gut vorausahnen, dass die Lieferkette fast ohne manuelles Eingreifen läuft.
Mischpaletten & komplexe Verpackungen
Odoo 19 hat die Funktionen für Maßeinheiten (UoM) und Verpackungen verschmolzen, was in der Praxis zu Problemen führt.
Das System geht aktuell nämlich davon aus, dass alle Produkte in einem Paket identisch sein müssen. Die Realität sind aber oft Mischpaletten.
Wir brauchen für Odoo 20 eine verfeinerte Logik, die es erlaubt, Pakete mit verschiedenen Produkten in unterschiedlichen Größen oder Gewichten unabhängig zu verwalten.
Das wäre vor allem für Fertigungsunternehmen extrem wichtig, um den Standard ohne mühsame Workarounds nutzen zu können.
Unabhängige Übersetzungen für die Website
Odoo's Website-Builder wird immer besser, aber die Übersetzung nervt noch.
Aktuell zerschießt man sich oft das Layout einer Sprache, wenn man in einer anderen etwas ändert.
Unser großer Wunsch für Odoo 20: Völlig unabhängige Sprachseiten. Kein reines Übersetzen von Textblöcken mehr, sondern volle Kontrolle pro Sprache.
Das spart doppelte Arbeit und verhindert kaputte Seitenlayouts.
