Odoo 20 is officially here! The new version was unveiled on 24 September 2026 at the opening keynote of the Odoo Experience in Brussels.
Here are all the features from Odoo 20: new AI capabilities, changes that affect every app, and what improved in each business area.
The hottest topic in Odoo 20 is (surprise) agentic AI
With v20, AI runs through your entire Odoo: agents can act on records and run inside automations, the system turns into an MCP server, and new AI features work across all apps. New Odoo AI features include:
Native MCP server: Odoo databases can now be connected to AI assistants via a native MCP (Model Context Protocol) server
AI agents in automations: AI agents can now run on their own, either when an automation rule is triggered or at a set time. Users can check the automation chats to see how an agent handled each run and ask for changes based on the errors it faced
AI agents that create and update records: Users can ask AI agents to create anything and to update existing records, even by uploading instructions via PDF
Voice interaction: Requests can be dictated directly to an AI agent, which processes your input and applies it immediately via the Ask AI agent
AI accounting agent: Users can ask the AI assistant for insights into their company's finances, based solely on the accounting data in their database
AI Website Assistant: The improved website AI assistant can create new web pages, edit forms and menus, draw inspiration from other websites, and replicate an existing page from a URL. AI agents can also generate images and enriched buttons for websites and mailings
Automatic AI model selection: Users select an AI provider, and Odoo automatically uses the best AI model for the task at hand
Cross-app AI functionality: AI now detects similar Helpdesk tickets to suggest answers, helps set up Marketing Automation campaigns, renames files in Documents, writes social media posts, and assigns emission factors in ESG.
Note that all AI features now require credits, which can be acquired via IAP (in-app purchases).
What about AI security in Odoo 20?
The new AI features look great, but how safe are they with live business data?
Odoo’s native 20 MCP server respects user access rights and is read-only by default. But once write actions are enabled, the AI can change records without approval, and there’s no audit log to record what it did.
The Odoo MCP Server by much. was built with security at its core. AI assistants connect through a secure OAuth 2.1 Odoo login. They can only reach the data admins allow, and ask for approval before changing anything. Every action and denied request is recorded in Odoo, so you always know what the AI did.
The module is currently available for Odoo 16-19 (Enterprise & Community) and coming soon for Odoo 20.
Odoo 20 brings new features to every business area
Beyond AI, the release notes list hundreds of changes across more than 50 apps. Here are the highlights, broken down by business area.
Systemwide improvements
Several changes in Odoo 20 apply to every app, on desktop and on mobile.
Offline mode: Users can create, edit, archive, and delete records without a connection, and rerun previous searches while offline
Mobile app revamp: Swiping down on the mobile app home screen now opens the command search bar for menus and actions. Date pickers now slide up from the bottom of the screen and also work on tablets. Forms have been improved to work on touchscreens
File sharing from mobile: Users can share a file from their phone straight into Odoo to digitise bills and expenses, or to create tasks, leads, to-dos, and time off requests
Simplified access rights: Record rules have been removed, and a domain is now added directly at the access right level to define which records it applies to
Tax included/excluded prices: Users can switch between tax-included and tax-excluded prices on sales orders, purchase orders, and invoices
Chatter improvements: Users can pin important messages and filter the chatter by conversations or tracked changes. Emails sent from Odoo can also include recipients in CC.
CRM & Sales
Odoo 20 adds more flexibility to quoting, pricing and commissions, and connects sales to new marketplaces.
Quick view sales dashboard: A dashboard at the top of the quotations and sales orders list shows sales performance, with quick-filter buttons
Quotation and section templates: Sales teams save any quotation or section as a template and reuse it in new sales orders. Templates support subsections and the "Hide Price" option, and updating a section's quantity updates all its products
Sales Order lines: Product images are now displayed on Sales Orders and PDFs. Editing the margin on a Sales Order line recomputes the sales price automatically
Commissions based on payments: Odoo calculates commissions based on the amount paid and rolls individual results up into managers' commissions
Automated lead generation: Lead generation now uses the Dun & Bradstreet database of companies for better worldwide coverage and data quality
Lead assignment: When Odoo distributes new leads to a sales team automatically, managers now decide who takes part. Each salesperson can receive leads every time they land, receive them only up to a set limit, or be left out of the distribution entirely
Upsells from leads: Salespeople create upsells and renewal quotations from a customer's existing subscriptions, directly from their lead.
Accounting & Finance
Odoo 20 automates billing and restructures how charts of accounts are organised.
Bill line prediction: Odoo pre-fills vendor bill lines automatically (i.e. product, account, tax, analytic distribution, vehicle) based on past bills and the line description. This works for manually added or imported bills
Bank payments via PISP: Bills can be paid individually or in batches with a single signature directly from Odoo, via a new payment initiation service provider (PISP) interface
Intercompany purchase order matching: Synchronised vendor bills are now automatically matched with synchronised purchase orders between companies
Parent accounts: Parent accounts replace account groups to structure the chart of accounts; account codes are now optional
Clearer payment tracking: "In Process" payments are now called "Paid", and "Paid" ones are now "Reconciled". The payment wizard detects these pending payments and deducts them from the amount due to prevent double payments
Bank reconciliation summary report: A new report shows reconciled and unreconciled transactions for a selected period
Valuation without Inventory: Product stock and accounting valuation can be managed without the Inventory app
UK HMRC authentication per company: HMRC authentication is now saved per company, so VAT returns for multiple companies can be submitted without re-authenticating.
Inventory
Odoo 20 strengthens multi-company operations and adds new shipping options.
Intercompany flows: One company can now resupply another using routes, and sales orders can be delivered from another company's warehouse. Valuation costs carry over between companies, and changes to linked orders are passed on to the other company
Suggested stock levels: Odoo suggests minimum and maximum stock levels for reordering rules, based on demand history, desired minimum days of coverage, and order frequency
Company-specific lead times: Each company can now set its own customer lead time for a product
ShipStation connector: Odoo now offers a native connector to ShipStation, a shipping and fulfilment platform that connects businesses to multiple carriers. With the new integration, Odoo calculates shipping costs through ShipStation and retrieves shipping labels and tracking numbers directly
Auto-generated CMR documents: When an order is delivered, Odoo generates a downloadable CMR (standardised international consignment note), prefilled with the transfer's information.
Manufacturing
Odoo 20 gives production planners new ways to schedule and adjust work.
Continuous Production: If Continuous Production is enabled on the bill of materials, subsequent operations start as soon as some quantities are ready
Work order planning views: A new Kanban view and a drag-and-drop Gantt view help planners schedule work orders, including by employee
Flexible manufacturing orders: Planners can split ongoing manufacturing orders to produce the rest later, or reset validated and cancelled orders to draft. Orders are now planned as soon as possible by default
BoM comparison: Odoo can compare bills of materials to make changes easier to see. A universal ECO (Engineering Change Order) report shows all changes with cost comparisons.
Purchase
Odoo 20 gives buyers more control over vendor terms and delivery dates.
Default Incoterm per vendor: Odoo applies a vendor's default Incoterm automatically to their quotations and purchase orders
Vendor quality rate: Odoo now rates each vendor's quality based on the quality checks performed on their products
Editable arrival dates: Buyers can edit the expected arrival date on a purchase order, while Odoo keeps the vendor's original date to calculate accurate on-time delivery rates.
Services (Project, Planning, Timesheets, Rental, Phone)
Odoo 20 brings new planning, tracking, and communication tools for service teams.
Project roles and collaborators: Project managers can assign team members to project roles, and customers can also collaborate on a project from their portal without being added as followers
Projects from opportunities: Salespeople can now create projects directly from CRM opportunities
Shift planning: Planners can assign several resources to one shift and set priorities, so Auto Plan schedules the most important shifts first. Employees receive their schedules via WhatsApp
Time tracking: A timer in the top menu logs time from anywhere in Odoo. The ActivityWatch integration turns device activity into timesheets while keeping data private
Unified pricelists: A single "Prices" tab now manages Sales, Subscription and Rental prices
Call management: In the Phone app, a new call flow designer builds menus and steps for incoming calls. Users also move ongoing calls between devices without interruption.
HR & Payroll
Odoo 20 simplifies payroll and adds more options for attendance and time off.
Simplified payroll: The Payroll dashboard has been revamped to focus on warnings for setup and day-to-day control. Work entries have been removed, and pay runs follow a clear, step-by-step process
Salary simulation and indexation: Payroll officers can simulate a salary from a net amount and increase it by a percentage, a fixed amount or both.
Attendance tracking: eSSL and Mantra biometric devices now send attendance records directly to Odoo. Devices with a camera can take a photo at check-in. A new report also shows overtime and the rules used to calculate it.
eCommerce & Website
Odoo 20 brings more automation to online shops and new AI and SEO tools to the website builder.
Automated cross-sell suggestions: Odoo now generates accessory, optional, and alternative products for eCommerce products automatically
AI-assisted product editing: From the Shop page, the AI assistant can generate product images or change a product's name, price, or description
Returns and delivery date management: Customers can return products directly from the customer portal and choose a preferred delivery date at checkout
Stock-based publishing: Odoo automatically unpublishes and republishes products based on their stock. eCommerce can also run without the Inventory app, using a single on-hand quantity per product
B2B and B2C on one website: Each pricelist can show prices with or without taxes, so the same website can serve business and consumer customers
SEO and AI visibility: Odoo now adds structured data to web pages by default to improve SEO. Website managers can also create an llms.txt file to help large language models understand the site's content.
Marketing
Odoo 20 gives marketers more visual and automated campaign tools.
Visual workflow builder: A drag-and-drop builder offers a more visual way to build workflows in Marketing Automation. Campaigns can now start from events such as page visits or list subscriptions, and webhooks add participants from external systems in real time
Mailing insights and personalisation: Mailings now show which recipients clicked which links, and blocks can be shown or hidden for each recipient based on conditions
Social media publishing: Marketers can post Facebook and Instagram stories from Odoo and schedule a post at different times on each platform
WhatsApp campaigns: WhatsApp now supports interactive message templates and automated follow-ups for abandoned eCommerce carts.
Point of Sale (POS)
Odoo 20 makes the POS more flexible for both retail and restaurants.
Multi-currency checkout: Several currencies can be accepted at checkout in the same point of sale
Service fees: Service fees can be added to POS orders and self-orders via presets and shown on invoices
Global sale: A single global sale can be generated at the end of each work session to simplify accounting entries.
Dashboards & Spreadsheets
Odoo 20 adds more control over dashboards and new analysis options in spreadsheets.
Personalised dashboards: Users can create private dashboards and share them only with specific users. They can also save their own favourite filters on a dashboard and set one as the default
New charts and annotations: Bubble and calendar charts are now available, and any chart can include annotations for extra context
Locked sheets and named ranges: Users can lock entire sheets to prevent changes and give cells or ranges a name to reuse in formulas
Print preview: Spreadsheets and dashboards now have their own print settings, with a new Print Preview window to check the result before printing.
